The Australian Social Policy Association (ASPA) invites applications to be a co-editor of the Australian Journal of Social Issues (AJSI) for a period of three-years from early 2016. The new co-editor will work alongside the current editor Boyd Hunter.
The AJSI has contributed to the development of interdisciplinary analysis of social and policy issues in Australia for over half a century and is now the sole Australian journal concerned with issues of social policy and social justice. Published quarterly, it provides an inter-disciplinary forum for debate on significant and controversial social policy issues, dealing with questions of social justice, broadlydefined. Articles discuss particular social issues, review conceptual problems, advance theories, present empirical studies, analyse issues concerning the making and implementation of social policy and debate the future direction of social policy.

The APSA promotes debate and increased understanding of social policy in Australia and productive collaborations between those working in and researching social policy locally and internationally. The journal is editorially independent of ASPA and the universities to which the editor(s) and contributors are affiliated. It is a fully peer-reviewed journal, indexed in Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), ISI Thomson Scientific Index and by the Australian Public Affairs Information Service(APAIS).
